The three pillars of YAG
The work at YAG can be divided into three pillars: consultancy, entrepreneurship, and personal development.
Consultancy
Strategic advice
Providing advice is the main activity of YAG. In all conceivable sectors, we offer strategic advice for various clients; from startups to multinational corporations.
Intensive guidance
During the project, intensive guidance is available from one of our training partners. Thanks to our partners, alumni network, and ambitious fellow consultants, you will get to know the ins and outs of the consultancy profession.
Multidisciplinairy team
In each project team, we combine as many study and knowledge backgrounds as possible to approach complex issues from different perspectives.
Project leader
After completing your first project, you can choose to become a project leader as a YAG consultant. The project leader is ultimately responsible for client contact and the work delivered.

Entrepreneurship
In addition to providing strategic advice, we are collectively responsible for keeping the company running. Every YAG consultant becomes a co-owner from day one and contributes to the company’s strategy. This way, we continuously work on our quality, growth, and optimization of processes.
All YAG members are actively involved in acquiring new projects and maintaining relationships with existing clients. This way, every YAG member gets to know many companies and can bring in their own dream project!
Four times a year, a national meeting takes place where all YAG members can pitch their ideas for the company. This ensures that YAG maintains a continuous and dynamic start-up culture, and YAG members gain a wide range of experiences.
The ten functions within YAG form the foundation of the company. Every six months, YAG members choose a new function in which they are challenged and learn the ins and outs of that subject. Within that function, you have the lead, together with YAG members from other locations.
- Academy
The Academy function is responsible for the content and planning of the training week for our new consultants, organises both internal and external trainings, and is regularly in contact with our training partners.
- Digital & Operations
The Digital & Operations function ensures that all conditions are met to work effectively as a YAG member. This includes being responsible for all internal communication channels, maintaining the website, and ensuring continuity in the CRM system.
- Human Resources External
The Human Resources External function (HRE) is responsible for contact with potential new YAG members. HRE leads the application period and also organizes recruitment-related events such as introduction evenings.
- Marketing
YAG has two important target groups: organizations and students. Brand awareness is crucial for both groups. Students are potential YAG members, and organisations are potential clients. The Marketing function is responsible for creating marketing content and distributing it through various (online & offline) channels.
- Acquisition
The Acquisition function has two main tasks: ensuring that enough attention is paid to acquisition within the location, and ensuring that new network relationships are built and existing network relationships are maintained.
- Finance
The Finance function ensures that YAG’s entire accounting is in order and remains so. A budget is drawn up every year and monitored. There are general tasks that every Finance member performs for their own location, while other tasks are divided, with responsibility lying with a specific location.
- Human Resources Internal
The Human Resources Internal function (HRI) ensures the development path of each YAG member within their own location and is the point of contact for personal issues. The HRI also oversees the feedback cycle within YAG.
- Team Captain
The Team Captain is responsible for communication between the various locations regarding day-to-day operations. Additionally, the Team Captain must be aware of what is happening in the location.
- YAG NL
The YAGNL function streamlines national business operations and provides direction to the YAG organisation. YAGNL is responsible for organising national meetings, sessions with our advisory board, monitoring task forces, and maintaining an overview between all locations.
Personal development
External partner trainings
Every month, YAG members can participate in trainings offered by partners. The topics of these trainings range widely, from hard skills to soft skills! In the past, there have been trainings on Excel, web scraping, giving feedback, and designing slides, for example.
Trainings, workshops, and more…
Helping others also helps oneself! YAG members enjoy sharing their knowledge, experience, and insights with other students through customized trainings, workshops, and masterclasses. This way, we also help other (student) organisations move forward!
Personal development plan
Every YAG member creates a personal development plan with half-year goals to work on. You will be paired with a buddy within YAG to help you achieve your goals.
